This class is for all hand embroiderers and will cater for beginners and returnees as well as those who are experienced. The Tutor will provide projects and tuition each term and over a period of time aim to cover a wide variety of styles and techniques both traditional and modern in application. Those who wish to work on their own projects, using the Tutor’s knowledge and expertise to enhance their own skills as and when required are more than welcome in this class. Those who wish to expand their horizons and try techniques new to them will also be catered for. The class will be informal and fun and students will be encouraged to collaborate with each other, sharing their growing confidence and knowledge. Whilst long term the students will be encouraged to design their own projects, the Tutor will always be able to provide design work and resources for them.
N.B. Students will need to bring their own reading/sewing glasses and a magnifier if they normally use one. They will need their normal sewing kit and a good pair of small pointed embroidery scissors. Details of materials required for future projects will be available at the first class of each term and the Tutor will usually be able to supply the materials at a reasonable cost.
