This course will explore different aspects of life in 18th Century England by focusing on the careers of ten individuals. The ten will range from the highest to the lowest and will include figures associated with such enduring areas of activity as politics, the arts and crime but also fields then of a more pioneering nature, for example, feminism, science and early industrialisation. The individuals we shall examine will include William Hogarth, Robert Adam and Mary Wolstencraft.
10 week term. Fees: £75 plus annual Settlement Membership - £18/£13 - paid once, irrespective of number of courses attended.
