Writing Workshop - for Writers & Readers         Tutor:   Sharon Priestley

Day:     Mondays from 20th September 2010     Time:     1.00 pm - 3.00 pm     Room:     3

If you want to write and would like a venue in which others respond to your writing, this is the course for you. The writing you present is your own work from any genre of fiction or non-fiction, including short stories, novels, autobiography, biography, the essay, drama, letters, diaries, travel writing, etc. The pieces you offer can be work-in-progress or fully-realised. Alternatively, you do not even have to be  a writer in order to join the class as long as you would like to work with those who do write. The only condition is that those who participate on the course are willing to respond to the work of others in a constructive and encouraging fashion. No assignments will be given except possibly that of reading photocopies of participants’ work and responding to the writing. Alternatively, work may be read aloud in class and then discussed. The format of the course is that we hear or read a piece of writing and respond to it orally and/or in writing in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

10 meetings. Fees: £75  plus annual Settlement Membership - £18/£13 - paid once, irrespective of number of courses attended.
