This unique course, backed-up with a wealth of colour images, will introduce students to the great variety of landscapes and wildlife still to be found within Letchworth and its environs. It will outline interactions of local geology and historical development which have created, and sometimes decimated, our legacy of semi-natural habitats together with the wildlife they hold.
Particular focus will be given towards identification, ecology and status of local wildlife, eg wildflowers, birds, butterflies, mammals, etc. A field excursion to a site of local interest is possible.
10 week term. Fees £75 plus annual Settlement Membership - £18/£13 - paid once, irrespective of number of courses attended.
