From Copernicus and Galileo to Einstein and Lemaître, the course will look at the work of about a dozen famous scientists. It will set the work in the context of the life and times of the scientist in question and attempt to look at it from their point of view. The work of these people will be explained assuming only an everyday knowledge of science and set against the pressures, inspirations and day to day happenings which influenced the work.
10 week term. Fees: £75 plus annual Settlement Membership - £18/£13 - paid once, irrespective of number of courses attended.
