Letchworth Settlement is an independent adult education centre run for the benefit of its members.  The members elect a Management Committee responsible for running the organisation and arranging the programme.  As well as a wide range of courses there are twelve affiliated Settlement groups. About twenty-five other organisations also use The Settlement's facilities.  A regular newsletter keeps all users up-to-date with events and developments.

The Settlement is largely self-supporting with help from Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, the University of Cambridge, Letchworth Civic Trust and North Hertfordshire District Council.

2007 was the centenary of the "Skittles Inn", the beautiful Arts & Crafts building which now houses Letchworth Settlement.  The Settlement was founded in 1920 and moved to the present premises in 1925.

Registered Charity Number 311085.
