Prize Club

The Settlement Prize Club

We run a Prize Club which gives cash prizes to its members and generates funds for the Settlement.

The Settlement is registered with North Hertfordshire District Council to run lotteries (Registration Number: LC/LOT 9282).

Membership

Open to anyone over 18 years of age.  You do not have to be Member of the Settlement to take part.

Subscription

  • The Prize Club runs from March to January of the following year.
  • There are 10 monthly draws, with no draw in August.
  • A share costs £10 per year, payable in advance.
  • Part year shares are not available.
  • There is no limit on the number of shares.
  • Each share is eligible for the 10 draws in each Prize Club year.
  • Each share will be allocated a number.
  • All share numbers go into every draw.

Payment

  • Payment should be made by 29 February 2024.
  • Payment can be made by:
    • Cheque payable to “The Settlement Prize Club”
    • Credit or debit card payment via the Settlement Office
    • Bank transfer to the following account:

  • Whichever payment method is used, an application form should be completed and emailed (via info@letchworthsettlement.org.uk) to or handed into the Settlement office.
  • Please note that if you have an existing standing order for your payment, you do not need to do anything as you will be automatically entered into the Club.
  • Please also note that we do not accept payment by cash.

 Prizes

  • 50% of the annual subscriptions are used for prizes and the other 50% for the Settlement.
  • Prize distribution is:
    • 35% in ten monthly prizes (no draw in August)
    • 5% in an additional prize in May
    • 10% in an additional prize in November
  • The number of subscriptions determine whether there is a single or multiple prizes each month.
  • Prizes are paid by cheque.

Monthly draws

  • Draws take place each month. The first one will be in March.
  • Two of the Settlement trustees and/or members of staff conduct the draw.
  • The details of the winners are put on the Common Room noticeboard.
  • In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Settlement Committee is final.
