We will be looking at some of the techniques and compositional forms used in Chinese Xieyi (free style) landscape painting. We will be using Chinese brush painting materials throughout. Suitable for beginners and improvers

Everyone: Please bring:

• 2 jars

• 2 saucers (or a mixing palette)

• kitchen towel

For the first class only, brand new learners can buy for £5 from the tutor, consumable materials (paint, ink, colours, paper) . Brushes may be borrowed.

Your Tutor

Name: Marion Dearlove

Bio: Marion Dearlove has a master’s degree in adult education, a City and Guilds adult teaching diploma, and has an undergraduate diploma in art and design. She started Chinese brush painting in 2001 and has studied with Chinese tutors in both the UK and in China. She began teaching Chinese Brush Painting in 2006 and has taught ad hoc classes throughout the UK. Marion is currently Secretary of the National Society for Chinese Brush Painting and Secretary and teacher of one of the regional divisions.
