Creative Writing Intensive Workshop for Competitions

If you want to improve your writing, entering writing competitions are a great way to focus your mind, refine your craft and achieve recognition. Competitions offer cash prizes, a chance to get published, and valuable feedback.
This workshop will examine available competitions for flash fiction, short stories and poetry. After considering tips on how best to succeed, we will set out to create a written piece(s) for submission.

Name: Paul Walker
Bio: Paul had several academic works published, but never tried his hand at creative writing until he retired from full-time work and enrolled on a course at The Settlement. He caught the writing bug and, within three years, had his first book published. He has worked with two publishers and has had four books published so far, with two more to come later this year. The books have received over 5,000 ratings on Amazon. He runs local writers groups and has given several one-off presentations and lectures. He has run creative writing courses at The Settlement for writers aiming to get published and now runs a self-support writers group based here. Paul is a member of the Society of Authors and the Historical Writers Association.
