A short course for those who are curious about what causes some people to commit crimes and would like to find out more about the psychology of crime and criminal behaviour.

Topics and questions to be considered may include:

· Are we biological programmed to commit crime?
· Are we psychologically programmed to commit crime?
· Personality Disorder?
· Offender profiling
· Eye Witness Testimony – does it work?
· False confessions
· What happens in the courtroom?

Your Tutor

Name: Lesley Ayres

Bio: Lesley studied Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton and then went on to gain her MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology from the University of East London. Later she gained her PGCE and is passionate about teaching Psychology as a subject for general interest. She has worked as a trainer and assessor and brings her experience in these areas to her courses at the Letchworth Settlement.
