Friendly Portrait Award Day

We are delighted to announce the special Settlement Portrait Workshop Day and Award!!

We invite you to join us, but places are limited, so please book as soon as possible!

There are two parts to the day!! One dedicated to the practice of portraiture and the other an opportunity to participate in the friendly portrait award (this is not obligatory!!)

There will be a small exhibition of works from the day, later in the year, in the Kincaid Hall, at the Settlement.

Last year’s pieces shall be hanging in the Kincaid Hall, within the next two weeks!
The day is structured as below;
The practice of portraiture workshop session is from 10.30am till 3.30pm. You will be able to make a number of studies, and there will be guidance and exercises throughout the day.

There will be a break from 1pm till 2pm, so, please do remember to bring a packed lunch!!
Light refreshments can be purchased from the Settlement Tuck Supply!

Running adjacent to the portraiture workshop session, is the portrait award!! There are three separate sittings from which you can choose and book to participate in. The three sessions are;
10am till 11.30am
12pm till 1.30pm
2pm till 3.30pm

There will be two tutors on hand, throughout the day. These will be Collette Hoefkens and the Settlement Portrait tutor, Komathy! We will be guiding you and organizing the day!!

The day will close with an appreciation of all the works, over a tea, coffee, or glass of wine!! This will be informal and take place from 3.45pm till 4.15pm. You will be invited to make an anonymous vote for your favourite piece from the day’s formal sittings.

Awarded to the favourite piece, will be a Tim’s voucher for £50, sponsored by Norton Way Gallery.
Conditions of the event;

Your award portrait session will be timed and last 1.5 hrs.

You will be required to supply your own materials, which must be agreed in advance with myself and Komathy.

We will provide, models, a table and chair, a board, guidance if you wish, coffee and tea.

We will keep chatting to a minimal, but comfortable level, in order that people can concentrate.

Time slots will be arranged in due course, before the event.

Places will be confirmed upon receipt of the entrance fee of £20.
