Film making
Monday 20 Jul, 2026 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Film as a storytelling art form usually aims to present a smooth chain of images. Film studies helps to understand how and why the techniques of cinematography and editing work to achieve such transparency. Looking at some film clips we will discuss a few elements of mise-en-scene (for example framing, lighting, cuts and camera movement) to appreciate the way movies create seamless and believable worlds.
