Exciting Events

Dear Settlement Members and Friends,

Thank you, everyone, for your involvement in the Settlement this term!  There are still several exciting events scheduled before Christmas, and then, of course, there is the whole of the Spring Term 2026, on sale now, to look forward to!

A Christmas Carol – A Reading – Letchworth Settlement

The Living Theatre, the group that stunned the Letchworth Festival, returns to the Settlement on Friday 12 December at 7pm with three professional actors in a version of the famous story abridged by Charles Dickens. (Adults: £15; Children: £10)

Stories for Under the Christmas Lights – Letchworth Settlement

On Saturday 13 December at 7.30pm in the hall, join the students of the Settlement’s ‘Get Writing For All’ night classes for an evening of Christmas storytelling and fun!  Mulled wine, mince pies and tales to tell, at this most magical time of year! (£7)

Settlement Sessions: Jack in a Barrel – Letchworth Settlement

Don’t forget to book for Jack in a Barrel!  This lively acapella sextet will present their Christmas Show, full of songs and carols, on Friday 19 December (doors 7pm; performance 7.30pm) in the Kincaid Hall. (£13)

We have a full programme of varied music coming up in the New Year, starting on Friday 23 January with a performance from Nette Robinson, a well-known jazz vocalist, accompanied by her husband Tony Woods on saxophone and Meredith White on keyboards as they take us on a journey of Poems, Tales and Magical Lands. (£14) Our website gives you more information as to what this entails and a short video announcing the event:

Farewell

Thank you so much for reading these newsletters over the past four years!  Exploring the arts and humanities, observing the sharing of skills, knowledge and understanding, has been a wonderful experience.  This is my final message to you all, before handing over the reins to new manager Russell Friese who starts in January.  You will be in capable hands.

Best wishes everyone,

-Nick
