Live Music Settlement Sessions

Dear Settlement Members and Friends,

I hope that you are enjoying the summer break with more hot weather promised next week.

Whilst you have been away from the Settlement, we have been working on setting up some musical events for you to enjoy once we re-open in September

Our initial event differs from the Settlement Sessions events which do not return until the end of October.

Friday 5th September sees us celebrating the return of the Gallagher brothers, amongst others, as Singing Cactus, the local band that brought us some very successful “Beertles” concerts, are back, this time as 96rpm, bringing us a nostalgic night of live Britpop music.

To make this even more enjoyable, there will be a full bar including some juicy beers provided by Letchworth’s legendary independent brewers, Garden City Brewery. Those of you who really want to get into the spirit of the event can don Bucket Hats, Jeans and Wet Look Hair Gel, but this is by no means compulsory!

Tickets, at £15 each, are on sale via The Settlement website
90s Britpop Night 96rpm – Letchworth Settlement

The boys have sold out on each of the previous four Beertles events so book now to avoid disappointment. 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Once you have recovered from this great night out, Friday 24th October at 7pm for 7.30pm, sees the return of the Settlement Sessions with multi-instrumentalist Scottish artist Elsa McTaggart and her husband Gary Lister, who hail from the Isle of Lewis.

They will take us on an eclectic musical journey through the Islands and Highlands of Scotland past and present. Expect soulful laments, high energy, beautifully arranged sets of jigs, reels and traditional songs with plenty of laughter, joy and warmth.

Tickets at £14 each area available from the the Settlement website.

Settlement Sessions: Hebridean Fire – Letchworth Settlement

Friday 21st November at 7pm for 7.30 start, sees the return of “Cut the Mustard.” Martin Kaszak and Dave Oxley, are an eclectic blues duo with their own distinctive style, with their powerful voices being accompanied by a host of instruments including a 1930’s National Steel Guitar.

This should be another excellent evening of music and tickets at £13 each are available from the Settlement website.

Finally, this year ends on Friday 19th December, at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, with a very different show as local a cappella quintet, Jack-In-A Barrell, give us a joyful blend of traditional and contemporary Christmas songs, classic carols and rousing festive sing-alongs. Heartful, harmonious and full of cheer, this is a great way to welcome in the Christmas festivities.

Tickets at £13 each are available from the Settlement website.
