Tickets are now booking fast for this coming Friday’s Spanish Film night! Settlement Spanish tutor, Maria Perez Luis, will present the wonderful, emotive movie, ‘The Teacher Who Promised The Sea’ (in Spanish with sub-titles in English). This historical movie, released in 2023, tells of a teacher who introduces progressive education methods to a rural Spanish school in 1934, before the start of the Spanish Civil War. Book here:

For those of you who attended last Friday evening thank you, but for those of you who did not make it, you missed a great evening and some seriously good guitar playing from Emily Slade!
On Friday 13th June, our next performer is also a top-quality guitarist. Gary Stewart is a Scottish singer/songwriter with four albums to his name and a strong following in his adopted home of Yorkshire. He will entertain us with a set of his own songs mainly about paranoia, love and resilience, with a second set of early songs by Paul Simon. Expect to hear many of Paul’s classic songs performed in Gary’s own style. This is not a tribute act, rather an interpretation of songs from an act that Gary really admires.
Doors and the licensed bar will open at 7 pm for a 7.30 pm start.

Settlement Sessions: Gary Stewart – Letchworth Settlement
As June is the month of the Letchworth Festival, we have not one, but two performances for you, as local choir, Vivace, will be with us on 22nd June. They are a medium-sized choir of about 20 to 30 members drawn mainly from the villages of South Bedfordshire. They present 3 concerts each year and sing traditional choral music along with music from operas and operettas and stage musicals. We are promised a mixed programme of Spirituals and songs inspired by them plus some Scott Joplin.
