65 million years ago, a space rock the size of Mount Everest struck the Earth, precipitating a mass extinction event on a global scale. How the evidence for this event was pieced together forms one of the great detective stories of Modern Science. The end of the Dinosaurs allowed the Mammals to evolve in their place.

Name: Tim Parrott

Bio: Tim Parrott took his degree at Cambridge then worked as a schoolteacher before specialising in explaining Popular Science to general audiences. In addition to Cosmology, Physics and Evolutionary Biology, he also teaches courses on architectural structure, always with a view to developing the knowledge and understanding of people without a background in Science who nonetheless want to know more.
